Training together in Madrid

Madrid trains a lot, and it trains early. Finding somewhere isn't the problem — the problem is that half the city goes out at the same hour to the same park, and that from June to September there are stretches of the day when you simply can't.

Where the city goes

The centre and the river
El Retiro and Madrid Río are the city's two meeting points: one central with a short loop, the other ten flat kilometres along the Manzanares without a single traffic light.
The west
Casa de Campo and Dehesa de la Villa are dirt, pine trees and real climbing a metre from the tarmac. They're why you can train off-road in Madrid without leaving Madrid.
The way north
Monte de El Pardo and the roads climbing towards the sierra are how people escape when they want real distance, on foot or on wheels.
