MTB: riding with people at your level
On a mountain bike, level isn't measured going up, it's measured coming down. Two people who reach the top together can take twice as long as each other on the same descent, and neither of them enjoys it.
MTB, city by city
What to settle before a ride
- Technical difficulty goes first
- A trail that one rider finds fun is twenty dismounts for another. Leading with the technical level avoids the ride where one waits at the bottom and the other arrives wrecked from braking.
- Nobody should descend alone
- A crash on a descent, with nobody around and no signal, is why almost everyone who rides a lot ends up looking for someone to ride with.
