Group runs in Barcelona
Barcelona is one of the easiest cities anywhere to go running with other people, and almost everyone still ends up doing it alone. There's a route for any pace fifteen minutes from wherever you live; what's missing is knowing who's going out today, and when.
Where people run in Barcelona
- Ciutadella and the Arc de Triomf
- Flat, central, and a short circuit that repeats well. It's the easiest place to start running with other people: lit until late, busy at every hour, and no hills to blame.
- The seafront
- Barceloneta to the Fòrum is about 5 km one way, completely flat and right on the water. In summer it fills up after eight in the evening; first thing in the morning it's one of the best things the city has.
- Montjuïc
- The classic loop: around 8 km with real climbing. It's where most of the city goes to do hill repeats, and you can join it from almost anywhere — Plaça Espanya, Poble-sec, or the steps behind the MNAC.
- Carretera de les Aigües
- A near-flat dirt track hanging above the city, roughly 9 km uninterrupted. Take the Vallvidrera funicular up. This is where long steady runs happen, with no traffic lights in the way.
